Why Choose Us?

As a Transformation Psychiatry patient, you will be treated by Dr. Michael Brus, a psychiatrist with a diverse range of life and career experiences, who will comprehensively address your difficulties.

We provide a full range of therapeutic approaches, including pharmacotherapy, psychoeducation, and targeted, time-limited psychotherapies such as cognitive behavior therapy and radically open dialectical behavioral therapy.

Patients benefit from the valuable experiences that have shaped Dr. Brus. He learned compassion and sensitivity working on the front lines of mental health with the homeless and disabled, providing treatment to the neediest patients with limited resources.

Through his medical training, which included rotations in urban trauma surgery, outpatient chronic pain, rural family practice, and international HIV medicine, he gained an understanding of the strong correlation between physical illness and psychological difficulties.

As a physician, Dr. Brus will address medical issues that may be contributing, in whole or in part, to your psychiatric problems. As a prescriber, he will address the parts of your illness that may be helped by medication. As a therapist, he will address the aspects of your problems that may be helped by contemporary psychological techniques. And as a Mount Sinai faculty member, he brings the perspective of cutting-edge research to everything that he does.

As a patient at Transformation Psychiatry, you will benefit from all of these perspectives, and all of this experience, under one roof, and in the same appointment. Your recovery will be speedier, more efficient, and more cost-effective.
